The man having the blockbusters like Dhoom and Dhoom 2 in pocket returns with the latest offering, ‘Kidnap’. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan, Minissha Lamba and Vidya Malvade in the lead, the expectations were very high since the captain of the ship Gadhvi had earlier delivered mega hits. Unfortunately the viewers had to be disappointed as the movie fell flat. ‘The cute boy next door’ image boy Imran Khan (who enticed the moviegoers in his debut film, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’) tried hard to impress the audience with totally different character in ‘Kidnap’ but fails to do so.

The script is not so powerful to talk high. And some irrelevant scenes and idiotic logics destroy the worth of the film. These have been forcibly put into the narrative just to add glamour and commercial quotient.

‘Kidnap’ reminds you of ‘Zinda’ since the story is somewhat similar to that flick. This too involves an abductor, who is trying to settle his previous scores and a hostage. Right in the beginning of the film, the

girl Sonia (Minissha Lamba) is kidnapped after dancing to an item number (this song is not required at all, but the makers have put it to add a touch of glamour or attraction). The kidnapper (Imran Khan) then begins to bargain with her billionaire father Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt), who is divorced from her mother (Vidya Malvade). The kidnapper does not demand a ransom but gets going with a game where he leaves puzzling clues for Vikrant through various means and expects him to resolve the mystery to reach Sonia. The mystifying game here starts and rest follows.

When the kidnapper gives clues to Vikrant in a train and then at an engagement cermony, you begin to think that these scenes make no sense at all. Could you ever think that a kidnapper will arrive at your home in front of you when you do not attend his call? Yes…ofcourse …you cannot think of..! But in Gadhvi’s Kidnap, this happened. Vikrant refuses to attend kidnapper’s call and he lands up at his home. Weird…! The shootout at the New Year bash is out of senses also. What happened to the script makers and the director of the film?

The script is the biggest flaw of this flick. The direction portion attracts. Imran Khan has to do better at serious types of roles or else he should move back to romance genre. Sanjay Dutt impresses you in full. Minissha Lamba justifies the role. Vidya Malvade is okay at acting front but looks a hottie mother.

The movie has been released on Thursday than Friday because of ‘Eid-ul-Fitar’. And the festival can bring

some audiences to the cinemas after that no big crowd would be seen in queues. On the whole, ‘Kidnap’ is just a one time watch.
