Money and love have been known as the medium to
attain the heavenly feeling on earth. While one is
accounted for the lavish lifestyle, other is for
satisfaction and sharing.
Jannat is a similar story of a man who has to take a
call between endless love and unstoppable money. All
is good for him till he has to choose one heaven
between the two.
Arjun (Emraan Hashmi) is an irresponsible young man
who makes small bucks in gambling. He climbs up the
ladders of card games and becomes a bookie. Love
tickles his life with the entrance of sweet natured
Zoya (Sonal Chauhan). |

|
Slowly Arjun climbs the ladders of fixing cricket
matches, and attracting the focus of lawbreakers.
The unstoppable and reckless Arjun gets all he
wanted. He wins big gambles involving big money,
visits South Africa but hides his professional side
from his sweetheart Zoya.
The Bhatt camp has risked Jannat with a debutante
director and a debutante screenplay writer. Kunal |

Deshmukh, the director of Jannat comes across as a
fine storyteller. He scales his film with fine grip over the
major aspects like performance and story.
The films narrates two different aspects – love and
gambling. However, neighter of the two are explored in
totality. I had expected some more detailing on the match
fixing plot.
There are moments that you will enjoy but those are just
small moments of joy. One who wishes to see the inside story
of cricket match fixing in the movie will be disappointed as
the motion picture shows things already known to us. |

The movie gets a
little slow in a few portions. The editing could have been
fine tuned. The screenplay is fantastic and so is the
cinematography. The entire look of the film is well-designed
and thought upon. Dialogues are praiseworthy. |

Pritam has yet again delivered a fantastic score
with the music of Jannat. However, the picturization
of the title track wasn’t convincing.
Performancewise, Emraan Hashmi clearly emerges as
the winner in the film. He delivers a stylish
performance with the mix of urban youth and raw
freshness.

more movies to prove her potential. Samir Kochar is
good. Vipin Sharma (Ishaan’s father in Taare Zameen Par) is
repetitive in his brief role.
Overall, Jannat is a good movie which will leave you in no
win-no loss situation when you come out of the theatres.
Enjoy the cool drifts of Emraan’s performance merged with
the cocktail of love, match-fixing and great music. |
