After Raaz, Vikram Bhatt returns with his favourite
genre,’horror’ with his latest offering, ‘1920’. Set
in the bygone era, the flick revolves around love,
lust and paranormal forces. The man has seen many
box office failures in recent times but now he
expects something good with 1920. Laced with
whopping amount of terrifying moments, the film
lives up to he viewers’ expectations in full since
it carries a gripping story to paste the viewers
till the end. |

Although the film has good storyline, nonetheless it
has is shares of flaws in narrative i.e. the story
slows down at regular intervals. Here it looses its
grip. Apart from it, the sequence of spirit’s taking
revenge could have been made more forceful. Anyway,
these are a few flaws, one could see in the film
otherwise, it is the best movie of Vikram Bhatt’s
career.
The film unzips in the year of 1920. The house is |

isolated in the backwoods has a secret past. For
years, everyone who has tried to pull it down died of
mysterious circumstances. Arjun (Rajnesh Duggal) and his
better half (Adah Sharma) come to this house, which is set
for demolition and a hotel is slated to be built up on the
plot. An architect, Arjun has a contract to construct a
hotel on this house. Unaware of the fact that this house has
been waiting for them, the husband and wife move into it.
Very soon, weird and mysterious events begin to take place.
They come to know that every architect who previously moved
into that house had died under mysterious circumstances.
The movie becomes more scary when the spirit enters into
Adah’s body. After that the incidents frighten you in full.
The moment, when Arjun chants the hanuman chalisa, is a
wonderfully executed scene. The sequences of Adha after the
spirit comes into her body have been treated magnificently. |

The story written by Vikram Bhatt is a creative
piece of work. The screenplay by Vikram Bhatt and
Dhiraj Ratan deserves distinction marks. As a
director, Vikram Bhatt is a class in this film. It’s
undoubtedly the best work of his career. Pravin
Bhatt’s cinematography is eye-pleasing. The way he
captured the scenes and the house is brilliant.
Adnan Sami’s music is mellifluous. Adah Sharma
impresses a lot. She pockets the meatier role to
perform and she justifies every inch of it. |

Rajnesh Duggal is another fine actor on Bollywood’s
list. The rest of the cast plays good too.
1920 is for all audiences. It has potential to ignite the
box office and is a success for Vikram Bhatt. |
